SIXT Car Rental at Lisbon Airport

Any traveler that wants to hire a vehicle during their stay in Portugal has a wide selection of rental car companies to make their pick from. When arriving at Lisbon Airport (LIS), please make sure to retrieve your luggage from the baggage claim area before proceeding. Helpful information when renting a Sixt vehicle at Lisbon Airport

The minimum age to rent a Sixt car in Portugal is 19 and the driver’s license has to have been held for at least one year prior to the beginning of the rental period. However, different age limits and driver’s license requirements are applied to different vehicle categories.

Sixt accepts valid drivers’ licenses from EU countries. All other licenses must be printed in the Roman alphabet or be complemented by an international driving license. If the country of origin is not a part of the international driving license treaty an official translation of the license into Portuguese must accompany the original driver’s license. Driving licenses from non-EU countries must have no visa entered in the passport or the visa must show that the customer has not been in Europe for more than 6 months. If the customer has been in Europe for longer than 6 months a driving license from an EU country must be provided.
